Dr. Michael Passmore
Michael Passmore, a native of Enid, Oklahoma, was born into a military family allowing his early years to be filled with many experiences of different cultures, lifestyles, and religious orientation. Following his graduation from Roosevelt High School in San Antonio, Texas, Michael began his college education in the field of Marine Biology at Texas A & M University. Changing majors took him to Phillips University in Enid, where he received a B.S. in Religion and a B.S. in Psychology. Seminary training gained him a Master of Divinity degree from the Graduate Seminary in Enid. Michael completed his Doctor of Ministry study at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
He has served as youth minister at First Christian Church in Tulsa, student pastor at First Christian Church in Putnam, Evangelism and Membership Minister at First Christian in Stillwater, interim minister at First Christian Church in Benton, Kentucky, and senior minister at First Christian Church in Mayfield, Kentucky. He has been the senior minister at First Christian Church in Lubbock, Texas for over 18 years.
Michael has served as a member of the Oklahoma Youth Congress, the Kentucky Regional Committee on Evangelism, and the Regional Task Force on Central America. In 1979, he was nominated as one of the Outstanding Young Men in America. He is married to the former Debra Miller of Enid, and is the father of three adult children: Taylor Scott, and twins Coe Elizabeth and Logan Miller. He is a frequent keynote speaker and preacher to a wide variety of audiences and is well known for his use of humor, stories, and personal anecdotes.
