Bob Irvin was born in Kansas City, Missouri, Bob and his mother drove to Washington, D.C. when he was 6 weeks old. They did so to be with his father who was in charge of construction at the Pentagon. This began an oddessey of travel which allowed Bob to see many states historical sites. This may be the reason he he later majored in History at Missouri State University. While there he would receive his Bachelor of Science in Education, later his Masters and Specialist Degrees During his  time at MSU he would also earn 12 Varsity Letters, four each in Football, Basketball and Track. He has been quoted as saying he was “pretty good “ in everything but not exceptional in anything.

After college, Bob spent 30 years in Education as a teacher, coach and administrator. He later entered the field of Pharmacutical sales and built a successful management career on the East Coast. Bob and his wife, Cara moved to Lubbock to be near their late son, Ray and grand-children Kate and Garrett. Bob would once again un-retire and become Director of Training and Development for United Market Street. This he was to do for the next five years.

Bob really enjoys coaching his AAU Girls Basketball Team which he began in 2005. The “Hoop 55 Storm” competes with many of the very best club teams in and around the state of Texas. Because of this he also sees a lot of High School Basketball in and around Lubbock to follow-up on his  girls and how they are doing.

In 2005 he also began helping out at the FLCC and he has been doing so ever since. He loves keeping the FLCC busy and always looks for new ways to serve church and community needs.
